Brain-Based, Holistic Teacher Professional Development
'The Daily Dozen for Well-Being, Teaching & Learning'

"The BRAIN is central to the LEARNING process
– so if we’re in the business of LEARNING
- doesn’t it make sense that we know how the BRAIN LEARNS best?"

We help teachers help their students to realise & reach their incredible true potential, in our unique, highly-recommended, internationally-presented, evidence-based Teacher Professional Development, using our 'Brain-Based Holistic Approach to Well-Being, Teaching & Learning’ .

We have arranged the day into 12 key topics to improve staff and student wellbeing, whilst simultaneously improving teaching and learning practices and outcomes, and we show very clearly how these are all inextricably interconnected.
We call it: The Daily Dozen for Well-Being, Teaching & Learning.

It's about understanding the 'HOW' and the 'WHY' behind the most effective ways to teach and learn, and then purposely using this knowledge, and the practical tools & strategies, in every lesson to improve well-being and academic achievement, simultaneously.

Mind-Brain Education or Educational Neuroscience is at the very forefront of the future in education!

We make teaching & learning more engaging, enjoyable, easier, empowering – and as effective as possible, based on the cutting-edge brain-science and psychology of how our minds & brains learn best, and on Tammy-Anne’s 10+ years of successfully using & benefitting from this exact approach in primary & secondary classrooms. So, we know it works!

This is NOT a program. This is NOT a weekly lesson.

This is world-leading training in an evidence-based, holistic approach to brain-based pedagogical practices and student empowerment that boosts well-being, teaching & learning success in every subject, every lesson & every year level.

It is a very practical, interactive, engaging PD, where we ‘practice what we teach’ so we present using effective practices that teachers can actually use in any classroom the very next day.

We use an approach recommended by the OECD’s Centre for Educational Research & Innovation & The Australian Student Well-Being Framework, plus world-leaders in education & neuroscience. Our teacher PD also meets all 7 AITSL professional standards; click HERE for more.

Multiple teachers say it is the best PD they have ever been to!!
Graduate teachers say they wish they were taught this at university!
Experienced teachers ask: ‘Why has this not been done before now?!’

It’s no secret that teaching can be a very rewarding, yet stressful job - but when our brains are in a state of stress,
we literally cannot teach (or learn) as effectively as possible.

So in this PD, instead of focusing on what we don't want, we focus more on what we do want - so you can do the same!

It's simple - and it works.

Better Staff & Student Well-being = Better Teaching & Learning.

Instead of focusing on staff & student stress - we boost staff & student well-being.
Instead of focusing on bad behaviour - we increase student engagement.
Instead of focusing on bullying - we encourage compassion & kindness.
Instead of focusing on distracted students - we gain student attention and maintain it.
Instead of focusing on lack of effort & motivation - we make learning meaningful & relevant.
Instead of focusing on dealing with disinterested parents - we engage parents as collaborative partners.
Instead of focusing on anxiety - we build student resilience & self-acceptance.
Instead of focusing on low achievement - we improve student memory, thinking & understanding.

And, best of all, we show teachers, students & parents how it's easier than you think to do this too!

Teacher Professional Development
Our Lady of the Sacred Heart PD

I’m a teacher - not a brain-scientist. Why do I need to know how my students’ brains work?

Our students’ BRAINS are inherently involved in the LEARNING experiences we provide for them and yet most of us simply don’t know how their BRAINS LEARN BEST – let alone what we might be unknowingly doing that physically stops their brain from having the capability to be engaged, enjoy lessons or learn effectively.

Would you like your staff to know exactly how to make simple, easy, evidence-based changes in their lesson structure, feedback, assessments & classroom tasks, to ENGAGE students & help them learn as ENJOYABLY & EFFECTIVELY as possible – whilst also learning how to manage their own stress and boost their own well-being, thereby boosting their efficiency as a teacher?

Our Teacher Professional Development reignites a teacher’s passion and reminds them of why they chose to become a teacher in the first place; to help young people realise & reach their incredible true potential, so they can be happy, healthy, successful & satisfied.
And, importantly, we share with teachers exactly how they can achieve this  goal - all based on brain-science!

"Tammy-Anne Caldwell is one of the most vibrant and energetic teachers that we are fortunate enough to have working at our school. Her philosophy is that students learn best when they are having fun, and this is shown clearly in her teaching style, which is always full of movement, challenges and surprises. Tammy-Anne is a motivating speaker who has prompted me to rethink my own teaching style by making ‘fun’ a primary objective in the classroom.”

How does our Teacher Professional Development workshop meet the
AITSL Australian Professional Standards for Teachers? ...we're glad you asked!

AITSL states: As a teacher, it’s your role to grow and develop the minds in your classroom.”
There’s simply no better way to do this than to understand how a student’s mind and brain works, learns and grows best!

Our minds and our brains are used every second of every day, for everything we learn, think, feel and do, so as AITSL says, "to help prepare young people to lead successful and productive lives” it’s imperative that we as teachers understand in detail how our students’ minds and brains work best - and empower them with this knowledge too.

Our Teacher PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Workshop perfectly aligns with all 7 AITSL standards

Standard 1: “Know students and how they learn.”
Quite literally, this is exactly what our workshop achieves. Our brain is used in all learning that we do, so how can we possibly ‘know students and how they learn’  if we don’t know how their minds and brains work and learn best?!

Standard 2: “Know the content and how to teach it.”
Regardless of the content being taught, we explain how to teach it in the most enjoyable, effective and easiest way possible - all based on how our students’ brains learn best.

Standard 3: “Plan for and implement effective teaching and learning.”
We explore this standard in detail as it is specifically about how to plan and implement the most effective teaching and learning, based on the latest in Educational Neuroscience & Psychology - all backed by evidence and research.

Standard 4: “Create and maintain supportive and safe learning environments.”
We help teachers empower students to cope with bullying, making mistakes, building self-confidence and resilience, self-regulating & managing their emotions & more, to create a supportive, safe learning environme; and we explain why this is essential for effective learning.

Standard 5: “Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning.”
We discuss the most engaging and worthwhile types of assessments, their implementation and the benefits of behaviour-specific feedback and praise.

Standard 6: “Engage in professional learning.”
This one is obvious.

Standard 7: “Engage professionally with colleagues, parents/carers and the community.”
This is an interactive workshop where teachers will share ideas and solutions with each other, and will discuss their new understandings during the PD. We also discuss the importance of the whole school community being on the same page, and the benefits of communicating many of the points discussed with parents, and how to go about this.

"I found it fascinating, stimulating and extremely informative….Tammy-Anne's choice of pictures to represent concepts is amazing. Each picture matches the concept she is teaching. Her presentation was captivating and held my attention for the entire [time] .… I will be able to take this newly obtained knowledge and apply it directly to my teaching on day 1….Through her training Tammy-Anne demonstrated the reasons why applying different teaching strategies are more effective than others. I would highly recommend her training to anyone involved in education.
